Osaka Garden Lagoon on Flickr.Osaka Garden is located on Wooded Island (Paul H. Douglas Nature Sanctuary) in Jackson Park just behind the Museum of Science and Industry.  The Osaka Garden was built for the government of Japan as its pavilion for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition.  The area was originally known simply as the Japanese Garden but was re-named in 1993 to recognize the sister-city relationship established between Chicago and Osaka, Japan.
